Pilot Position at Smokey Bay Air
Smokey Bay Air (SBA) is looking for a full time pilot!
Excellent opportunity for pilots looking to join a Part 135 operation. SBA is a well-established Part 135 operation based in beautiful Homer, Alaska. SBA has a fleet of Cessna 206s and 207s, and offers daily service to the communities of Seldovia, Port Graham, and Nanwalek. Additionally, SBA offers summer time bear viewing tours on the coasts of Lake Clark and Katmai National Parks. Off-airport (beach) training, and bear guide training will be offered to the right candidate.
We are looking to provide training beginning in March (dates are flexible). This is a full time position. Competitive pay. Jumpseat privileges on Ravn (non-CASS). Nice pay increase while working as a bear guide/ beach pilot. For those pilots who do not have a multi-engine rating, SBA will provide up to $5,000 pay incentive to complete your rating between your first and second summer season. Pilots who hold a multi-engine but are seeking other ratings may be eligible for other incentives on a case by case basis.
We are seeking a motivated individual with excellent flying and interpersonal skills. A pilot will interface with around 50 clients every day. The flying is day VFR, and is stick and rudder flying at its finest. Village work is on and off gravel strips. Pilots may conduct over 20 takeoffs and landings a day. Previous backcountry or gravel strip experience is a must. Previous cold weather experience preferred. We require someone who wants to live/ work in Homer for at least two summer/ winter seasons: we expect to employ our full time pilots for a minimum of 18 months following training. Candidate must be willing/ able to relocate to Homer when hired.
Required: Part 135 VFR PIC minimums with an instrument rating, high performance endorsement, and gravel strip (or equivalent) experience. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

- Broadening experiences (tailwheel experience, SES, etc., is a plus)
